Spike Profile

Spike was no ordinary hedgehog. Beneath his prickly exterior, he carried a heart full of loyalty and a past of broken trust. Spike grew up in a dense woodland, a place teeming with life but fraught with challenges. As a young hedgehog, he was known for his warm, curious nature, eager to make friends with the woodland’s rabbits, birds, and foxes. But time and again, his trust was betrayed—friends who left, promises broken, and dangers underestimated.

Over the years, Spike learned to rely only on himself. He built his hibernaculum—his winter home—deeper in the woods, hidden from prying eyes. He perfected his ball defense, rolling tightly at the first sign of threat. To the outside world, Spike became grumpy and standoffish, brushing off any attempts at kindness with sarcastic remarks or a dismissive huff.

Yet, beneath the gruff demeanor, Spike’s heart remained fiercely loyal. When the local robin injured its wing, Spike stayed up all night gathering soft moss for a makeshift nest. If a friend proved their worth, Spike would defend them as fiercely as he protected himself. Though he feared being hurt again, Spike longed for a bond that could break through his spines, reminding him it was safe to trust once more.
